What is a cryptocurrency?

Cryptocurrency is a kind of digital currency based on blockchain technology, which can realize point-to-point transactions.

Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Tether (USDT) are the most popular mainstream cryptocurrencies.

Cryptocurrencies can be accessed in two ways: cryptocurrency wallet or trading platform. Its characteristics include decentralization, high transparency and tamperability.

Bitcoin (BTC)

BTC is the first cryptocurrency to be born and the most famous cryptocurrency. It was created in 2009 by a person or group under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Since then, thousands of cryptocurrencies have emerged around the world, each with its own unique characteristics and uses.

Ethereum (ETH)

ETH is the second most popular cryptocurrency, launched by Vitalik Buterin and his team in 2015. In addition to being used for value transfer, it can also be programmable through smart contracts. Like Bitcoin (BTC), ETH originally used the PoW consensus mechanism.

TEDA (USDT) USDT is a US dollar- pegged stable currency launched by Tether Limited Inc in 2014. A stable coin is a cryptocurrency designed to maintain a stable value relative to reserve assets (such as fiat currency). As far as USDT is concerned, each token is supported by an equal amount of assets reserved by the company. Therefore, USDT can not only provide the convenience of cryptocurrency trading, but also minimize price fluctuations.
